A Legacy That Began in 1827
The school traces its origins to 1827, when it began as a high school under the initiative of the local education committee. During its early years, it played an important role in promoting modern education and gradually developed into a significant educational institution in Sagar.
In 1873, the higher classes were shifted to Jabalpur, while the institution continued serving the educational needs of the region. In 1919, the school moved into its present historic campus, which included classrooms, laboratories, a hostel and a large playground, marking an important phase in its development.
Over the years, the school continued to expand its academic and physical facilities. Its students have achieved distinction in diverse fields, including education, administration, science, literature, defence and public service. Dr. Harisingh Gour, one of its distinguished alumni, went on to become an eminent jurist, educationist, and founder of Sagar University.

I take immense pride in being part of an institution that has upheld the values of education, discipline, and character for over two centuries. Since 1827, our school has been dedicated to nurturing young minds and preparing generations for a changing world.
We believe education goes beyond academics—it is about building character, confidence, curiosity, and responsible citizens. As we embrace modern learning while staying rooted in our traditions, I encourage our students to dream boldly, learn continuously, and carry forward our legacy of excellence.
